NFL Week 17 – Picks Revisited

Every Tuesday or Wednesday I will go over the previous week of games, with a note or two on the game. To see my picks with notes from the past week, click here!

Week 17 (Predicted Winners in Bold and Italicized) (If the pick has a line through it, then I incorrectly picked that team to win):

NYJ @ BUF – Sanchez surprisingly (ok, not really) threw a pick 6 and it was the Bills that came away with an easy victory.

CAR @ NO – The Saints defense was not able to contain the Panthers, and D-Will had a great day rushing for 210 yards and two touchdowns.

TB @ ATL – Falcons played most of their players and had three injuries to three key players. Oh, and they still lost.

CHI @ DET – The Bears did enough to keep their hopes alive, only to get them destroyed later in the day. That sealed the fate of Lovie Smith.

PHI @ NYG – Eli decided today was the day to show up throwing for five touchdowns. Vick continued to struggle in his audition for other teams.

JAX @ TEN – Titans scored 28 unanswered points without running a single offensive play. Zach Brown two defensive touchdowns, and Dariaus Reynard two punt return touchdowns.

BAL @ CIN – Ravens played their starters two series’ and that was enough of them. Bengals played their’s a little longer, enough to take the victory.

CLE @ PIT – Big Ben threw for three td’s and pushed the Steelers to a .500 season.

HOU @ IND – Colts with nothing but pride to play for, destroyed Texans fans’ hope of a #1 seed by beating the Texans in Indy.

GB @ MIN – A great game that came down to pro-bowl-rookie kicker Blair Walsh and he succeeded. How about Adrian “AD” Peterson finishing just nine yards short of the record. MVP?

KC @ DEN  – Broncos clinched the #1 seed in the AFC. Chiefs clinched the #1 pick overall in the draft. Success for both teams!

OAK @ SD – Pryor had himself a good game accounting for three total touchdowns. However, it was not enough as the Chargers hung on for the win.

ARI @ SF – 49’ers clinched the #2 seed with their win. Their only problem is the leg of David Akers.

STL @ SEA – Close game, but Wilson, who tied Peyton Manning for most TD’s thrown by a rookie, came through late in the game. Hawks end the season at him going 8-0.

MIA @ NE – Patriots cruised to the #2 seed.

DAL @ WSH – The game of the week, saw Romo continue his December struggles, and RG3 continue his rookie-of-the-year campaign. Redskins moved on to the playoffs.

Overall Week 17 Record: 12-4

Overall Season Record: 165-90-1

A playoff preview will be up either Thursday or Friday with predictions for the playoffs.
