NFL Week 15 – Picks Revisited

Every Tuesday or Wednesday I will go over the previous week of games, with a note or two on the game. To see my picks with notes from the past week, click here!

Week 15 (Predicted Winners in Bold and Italicized) (If the pick has a line through it, then I incorrectly picked that team to win):

JAX @ MIA – The Jaguars scored the first three points of the game, and the Dolphins scored the remaining 24. Chad Henne’s return proved to be a classic Henne performance.

WSH @ CLE – NO RG3 no problem for the Redskins. A huge win for the Redskins as they now control their own destiny to make the playoffs. Cousins and Alfred Morris had a great game, as they defeated the Browns by 16.

GB @ CHI – Bears had their chances but shot themselves in the foot. Bears had too many penalties (several questionable) and were never able to tie it up against the Packers. Not looking good for the Bears.

DEN @ BAL – In what was supposed to be more of a good game, the Ravens never showed up until the 4th quarter. Flacco’s stats don’t look terrible but he wasn’t good at all. Broncos cruised to their 9th straight victory.

MIN @ STL – “ALL DAY” Adrian Peterson is the only offense for the Vikings these days and he is carrying the team on his back. Another great performance leaves him 294 shy of breaking the record.

NYG @ ATL – One team showed up and the other didn’t. Ryan threw for three touchdowns (two to Julio, one to TG), and the Falcons defense shutout the Giants.

TB @ NO – Another game where just one team decided to show up and the other stayed at home. Brees threw four touchdowns and the defense held Martin to just 10 yards (on 9 rushes).

IND @ HOU – The Texans clinched their division with their home win against the Colts. The defense (and mostly Watt) was all over Luck as he struggled to find open lanes to make throws.

DET@ ARZ – The most pathetic loss by any team this whole year, the Lions lost by 28 to the pathetic Cardinals. Bad turnovers led to touchdown drives of 3, 5, and 29 yards for the Lions. Their other two TD’s were pick-6’s.

CAR @ SD – Another blowout game. It is amazing that this Chargers team defeated the Steelers at Heinz field last year, and then shows up at home and gets blown out by the Panthers.

SEA @ BUF – The Seahawks are the hottest team in the NFL right now. Another 50+ point game and stifling defense, this time on the road. Russell Wilson has had an outstanding rookie year.

KC @ OAK – Janikowski accounted for all 15 points of the Raiders and that should tell the whole story of this game.

PIT @ DAL This game turned out to be a thriller. The teams were scoring back and forth but the Steelers were the ones making the mistakes late. Antonio Brown fumbled a return, and misplayed a return late in the game, and it was Big Ben who threw the pick in overtime, which led to Dan Bailer’s game winning FG.

SF @ NEAs a Texans fan, I really love this “upset.” Kaepernick played well enough, and Gore was able to eat up yardage in the game. The 49’ers looked like they were on the way to a blowout but Brady made it close, but at the end of the day, the 49’ers pulled of the win.

NYJ @ TEN – So I was watching SNY post game show, and an analyst summed it perfectly saying, “The Titans said screw you NFL, we will allow the Jets to make the playoffs, we want them in, and the Jets still couldn’t win.” – Pathetic

Overall Week 15 Record: 14-2

Overall Season Record: 142-81-1

Power Rankings for Week 16 will be up before game time on Thursday.
