NFL Week 13 – Picks

Every Sunday I will be making picks for each game of every week. The game that occurs before that Sunday will be picked in the previous article of updated power rankings each week. This past Thursday I incorrectly picked the Saints to defeat the Falcons. Here are the rest of my picks for Week 13:

Week 13 (Winners in Bold and Italicized):

CAR @ KC – Sure KC maybe a bit tough at home, but not really sure how they will play after mourning the loss of a teammate. Panthers looked pretty good against the Eagles on offense, and should be able to carry that into KC.

SF STL – Last time these two teams met it was in SF and it resulted in a tie. Don’t think we will see a tie here, as the 49’ers have been playing well lately, and this should be a relatively easy game for the 49’ers.

MIN @ GB – No Harvin again for the Vikings likely means no win for the Vikings. On the road doesn’t help though they are playing against a banged up Packers team. Rodgers will look to bounce back after his poor performance last week.

IND @ DET – Lions have been playing pretty well but just coming up show the last few games. Indy is a good team, but the Lions need this game more than anything, and being at home helps.

ARZ @ NYJ – As bad as the Jets may be, the Cardinals are just as bad. Terrible quarterbacks on both sides, decent run games, and defense might just determine this game. Cardinals have a good one, however Calais Campbell will be out again.

HOU @ TEN – Titans have changed coordinators on offense so that might either confuse the Texans or help them out. Texans will be without Joseph, Reed, or James, but the defense should be able to do better than the last few weeks.

JAX @ BUF – A must win game for the Bills and it helps being at home. Jaguars have looked a lot better the last few weeks, however the Bills d-line has been getting some pressure lately. I expect this game to be close, but the Bills should come out ahead.

NE @ MIA – The Patriots have been scoring at will, and I expect another similar result today. Division games on the road are tough, but the Patriots offense should be able to put plenty of points on the board, and the defense should be able to stop the Phins.

SEA @ CHI – Cutler healthy + the Seahawks on the road = Seahawks loss. Forte and Bush will likely split carries, and the Seahawks corners will be playing today, but the Bears should take this one in a big game for the Bears.

TB @ DEN – This could be the game of the day with the way the Bucs have been playing. The Broncos at home however, are a tough team to beat and with their aerial attack, plus the lack of a secondary for the Bucs, this game should be won by the Brocnos.

CIN @ SD – The Chargers and namely, Norv Turner, have been looking for many ways to not make the playoffs. This is a big game for both teams’ playoff hopes, and I expect the Bengals to be able to steal this one on the road.

CLE @ OAK – The weather seems to be pretty bad for this game. It looks like McFadden will not suit up for this one. This may be the most uninteresting game of the day, but I believe the Browns should be able to win this one.

PIT @ BAL – Another equation for this game. No Big Ben + starting Charlie Batch + on the road against a divisional opponent = Steelers loss. The Ravens struggled a bit last week, but should be more amped up for this divisional game, and they play a lot better at home.

PHI @ DAL – No Vick or McCoy for Eagles (though Bryce Brown playing very well). Cowboys pretty healthy and at home.

NYG @ WSH – A must win game if the Redskins want any shot at the divisional crown. Giants played very well last week against a better opponent, but now have to go on the road and try to contain RG3. Should be a fun game.

That wraps up the picks for week 13. I will update my (hopefully) above .500 record every Tuesday or Wednesday. Looking forward to having a great Sunday. Good luck to your hometown team, and as always, Go Texans!
