NFL Picks – Week 8

Every sunday I will be making picks for each game of every week. The game that occurs before that sunday, will be picked in the previous article of updated power rankings each week. This past thursday, I incorrectly picked the Vikings to beat the Buccaneers. Here are the rest of the picks for Week 8:

Week 8 (Winners in Bold and Italicized):

SD @ CLE – Thought about the upset pick here, but I think Chargers will pull it out, with a big day from Mathews.

JAX @ GB – Packers are without their top two WR’s, but Cobb, Finley, Jones is plenty good to beat the Jags.

ATL @ PHI – UPSET! Windy weather will force the Eagles to run more, which they should have been doing all season with McCoy.

IND @ TEN – Titans capable of scoring points, and CJ should have another big day against this run defense.

MIA @ NYJ – Should be a game that comes down to end. Last time Jets barely pulled out the win in overtime. Jets now minus Holmes, Scott, and Revis from last game.

NE @ STL – This game is being played in London. Rams are underrated team, but not enough talent here to upset the Patriots.

SEA @ DET – In a virtual must-win for the Lions, the Lions will try to “upset” the Seahawks.

WSH @ PIT – Going both ways on this game. RG3 will be too much to handle for this injured Steelers defense.

CAR @ CHI – Tough first game for Panthers off their bye-week. Bears defense will be too much for Newton.

OAK @ KC – I tried not to pick either team, but I had too. I’ll take the Charles to have a big day as the Chiefs win at home.

NYG @ DAL – Another game I was going back and forth to decide who wins. Things are a bit different since Cowboys upset the Giants in the Meadowlands. I’ll take the risk here with the Cowboys pulling off the win.

NO @ DEN – Will be a very entertaining game to watch. Both teams with great offenses. I’ll take the Saints on the road!

SF @ ARZ – Both teams not playing great football, but the 49’ers are the better team.

That wraps up the picks for week 8. I will update my (hopefully) above .500 record every tuesday or wednesday. Looking forward to having a great sunday. Good luck to your hometown team, and as always, Go Texans!
