NFL Week 3 – Picks Revisited
Every Tuesday or Wednesday I will go over the previous week of games, with a note or two on the game. To see my picks for the past week, check the previous post. This week was a pretty bad week for me, as well as many other people around the internet making picks. Hopefully this week will be the worst week for me this year.
Week 3 (Predicted Winners in Bold and Italicized) (If the pick has a line through it, then I incorrectly picked that team to win):
MIA – Dolphins had it but blew it. Jets looked terrible, and loss of Revis for year will doom them.
TB @ DAL – Cowboys weren’t too great letting Romo get hammered in the pocket, however their defense did enough to stop the Bucs from putting up enough points to take the win.
STL @ CHI – Bears defense did enough to have the Bears take this one.
NO – Are the Saints really this bad? Seems like it!
IND – Jaguars fought back and win the game on an 80-yard Td pass to Cecil Shorts. SF @ MIN – Ponder with the best game of his career, as the Vikings upset the 49’ers.
WSH – Who saw that Sanu TD pass coming? Not I! Bengals edge out the Redskins in the nation’s capital. DET @ TEN – What a thriller! Trick plays, and a bunch of scoring. Shaun Hill was impressive but couldn’t convert on 4th and 1, as the Titans pulled the upset.
BUF @ CLE – If the Bills would have lost this one, it would have been bad in Buffalo.
ATL @ SD – Falcons fly to the west coast and it proves to not hurt them at all. Chargers looked terrible.
PHI @ ARZ – Impressed by the Cardinals and slowly starting to believe in them. Great defense, but will need consistency on offense in order to continue their run. PIT @ OAK – Injuries hurt the Steelers, as the Raiders shocked the Steelers.
HOU @ DEN – Impressive win at Denver, this team looks to be the best in the NFL. Game could have easily been a 30 point blowout if not for Tate’s fumble which jumpstarted the Broncos comeback.
NE @ BAL – It’s good! Or was it? Not sure, but the refs played a big factor in this game. Props to Torrey Smith on a fantastic game.
GB @ SEA – Before getting into the controversy, I was extremely impressed with the defense of the Seahawks. Now to the controversy, there were about 5 terrible calls (both ways) even before the Game-Winning-Interception. Replacement officials gave this game to the Seahawks. Sorry Packers fans, but you guys got robbed. NFL held up the ruling and gave the Seahawks the win.
Overall Week 3 Record: 6-10.
Overall Season Record: 27-21
Power Rankings for Week 4 will be up before game time on Thursday.
